Objectives
MAVP is the abbreviation for Malaysian Association of Veterinary Pathology. MAVP was established in 2008.
The headquarters of MAVP is currently addressed at the Department of Veterinary Pathology and Microbiology, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Universiti Putra Malaysia.
MAVP is affiliated with the Malaysian Veterinary Medical Association (MAVMA), formerly known as the Veterinary Association Malaysia (VAM), and the Asian Society of Veterinary Pathology (ASVP), based in Tokyo, Japan
The purpose of this association is the advancement of animal and animal-related disease diagnosis and research to enhance veterinary services to the public.
Exclusively scientific, never include any political matters. In order to achieve the purpose, the association carried out activities throughout the years for example;
(1) organization of diagnostic meeting and/or symposium
(2) collaborative diagnosis and research on animal disease
(3) exchange of educational and scientific information
(4) technical training
(5) other necessary activities deemed fit to achieve the purpose

Background


The Asian Society of Veterinary Pathology (ASVP), founded in 2003, is a coalition of organizations in Asian countries fostering the advancement of veterinary pathology in the region.
It has ten member organizations representing the specialized profession in the following Asian countries - Japan, Taiwan, South Korea, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Philippine, Vietnam, India and Pakistan.
The ASVP general body meets once in two years, and this 2025 meeting and symposium has been scheduled in Malaysia.
The society encourages scientific and professional cooperation among veterinary pathologists practicing the discipline in member countries and proposes to act as a single voice of veterinary pathology in the region.
